I’m a Realtor, and I Don’t Work on Saturdays
Yes, you read that right. I’m a full-time, top-producing Realtor — and I don’t work on Saturdays.
In a profession where availability is often expected 24/7, that might sound unusual. But early in my career, I made a very intentional choice: to take Saturdays off. Not because I’m not committed to my clients (I absolutely am), but because I’m also committed to something equally important — my family and my own well-being.
When I first got into real estate, I had young kids at home. Before that, I worked in tech as a systems engineer. I made the transition to real estate because I wanted more flexibility — not just to build a business I love, but to be truly present as a mom during those fleeting years when my kids were growing up. Saturdays were sacred. They were for Dutch baby pancakes, coaching all of my children’s soccer games, bike rides, trips to the ice cream shop, movies time and being fully there — not just physically, but mentally and emotionally.
Fast forward to today — two of my kids are in college, and my youngest is in high school. I’m so grateful I carved out that time, and I don’t regret a single Saturday. The tradition stuck. Saturdays are still my time to unplug, recharge, and reconnect — with my family, with friends, with myself.
Now, that doesn’t mean my clients are left hanging. I work six full days a week with energy, intention, and focus. My clients know this about me — and they respect it. In fact, they often go out of their way to honor that boundary. If I happen to text them on a Saturday, they’ll say, “What are you doing? It’s your day off!” Or if they need something urgently, they’ll message, “I know it’s your day off, but when you’re back online tomorrow, can we…”
I’ve also built a strong team that supports me — and you — on Saturdays if something truly time-sensitive comes up. So you’re never without coverage; you’re just working with someone who is fully present and ready to help, just like I will be the very next day.
Real estate is a demanding business, and I pour my heart into it. But I’ve learned that I serve my clients best when I take one day a week to pause, reset, and refocus. And in doing so, I get to walk the talk of what I often tell buyers and sellers: that home should be a place of peace, connection, and balance.
So yes — I’m a Realtor, and I don’t work on Saturdays. And I wouldn’t have it any other way.
Best,
Michele
