Before and After: How Renovations and Staging Can Sell Your Home in 6 Days!

The home we’re showcasing today was a recent property I sold representing the seller.

When you’re thinking of selling your home, you most probably are projecting your focus to your future home and new life, and the thought of putting money into renovating, remodeling and staging the property you want to sell is concerning and adds an extra layer of stress.

It’s a fact though, that showcasing your home to potential buyers in its best light, will ensure a faster sale process, as buyers won’t need to factor in the cost of repairs when making an offer. Staging creates an impactful and positive impression by highlighting the home's best features and downplaying any drawbacks. Carefully chosen furniture, tasteful decor, and staging can transform a dull space into an inviting sanctuary. And here’s a catch, COMPASS has created a program where you won’t have to spend a dime on your home renovations BEFORE the house is sold! Curious? Keep reading.

The home we’re showcasing today was a recent property I sold representing the seller. It underwent a major renovation before putting it on the market. But the investment was worth it as in the end, it Sold in only 6 days over 15% of the asking price.

The Renovation and Staging

This home went through a complete makeover. We repainted the entire home interior and exterior, replaced a few doors, new door handles throughout, new light fixtures and other minor touches.

The Kitchen

The kitchen was completely renovated, gutted, and replaced with new everything: cabinets, flooring, sink, light fixtures, appliances.

The Bedroom

The bedrooms also went through a partial remodeling. My crew removed the carpet, refinished the hardwood floors throughout, painted and installed new closet doors. The staging adds that wow factor that will make the Open House walk-ins feel right at home.

Teamwork

It’s truly exhilarating to witness the results of a home makeover. The hard work, the attention to detail, and the final wow factor resulted in a passionate effort from all people involved. I would not be able to do what I do for my clients in the time frame that I do without the partnership I have with the various vendors I work with. From flooring to roofing, general contractors, painters and everything in between I appreciate that they put my client’s home on top of their schedules as they know timing is of the essence for them. Yet another value I bring to my clients when they work with me. Where I can get a home ready for market in less than 2 months, the general consumer sometimes waits over a month just to get someone to come in to look at the job and then they need to wait a few more months for the work to commence.

And, the crème de la crème, the exquisite staging of Colleen Smith of Location Staging! I’ve teamed up with her and her team for some time now and she’s always a guarantee for a successful sale. Stay tuned for her special interview featured soon on this blog, where she’s going to share more insights on the importance of staging homes.
